RE: BMAP Summer Excursion Series
Landowners and others interested in natural area restoration will not want to miss a walking tour of an expansive limestone dry prairie with numerous rare and uncommon species, historic limestone surface quarries, a spring fed creek, and a bur oak savanna under restoration on Thursday July 18, at 6:30 pm. The property is located N9478 York Center Rd, New Glarus. York Center Road is approximately 6 miles west of New Glarus on State Hwy 39 or 3 miles east of the intersection of Hwys 39 and 78. Look for event signs on the road.
The hike is sponsored by the Blue Mounds Area Project and will be led by BMAP ecologist Cindy Ramseyer. The hike will begin when everyone gathers and last about an hour. Afterwards brats and drinks will be provided for a picnic lunch. Please bring a potluck dish to share. For more information email email@example.com.
The Blue Mounds Area Project is a local nonprofit conservation organization that promotes private land stewardship with an ecological perspective.
