Canoe & Kayak Trips Depart at 9:00, Noon and 3:00
Thank You to our Event Sponsors:
Join us for a completely free 60-minute (time varies depending on water level and your canoe steering ability) paddling trip down the Sugar River. We provide your choice of canoe or kayak (based on availability), life jackets, and paddles. Thank you to event sponsor Rutabaga Paddle Sports for donating a fleet of canoes for the event!
Paddling trips will depart from Paoli Park at 9:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Trips fill up quickly, so please arrive at the park in advance to register. If paddling isn’t your thing, we still have other activities that you may enjoy!
This year’s food, beverages (including beer!) and cake will be served at The Hop Garden across the street from Paoli Park.
Pizza will be provided by Sugar River Pizza Company of Belleville, drinks from Tuvalu Coffeehouse & Gallery of Verona, along with other fixings to complete the meal. Lunch will be provided free of charge for USRWA members, and pizza will be sold for $2.50/slice for non-members. Vegetarian options will be available.
Beer brewed locally by The Hop Garden will also be available for $4.
Don’t Forget about our Raffle!
Raffle tickets are on sale now. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20, and can be purchased at the Verona Farmer’s Market, on event day (August 15, 2015) or by calling 608-437-7707. The raffle will be drawn on August 15th at 3:30pm and you do not need to be present to win.
Grand raffle prize: As always, this year’s grand prize is brand-new recreational river kayak, complete with a $100 gift card so that you may purchase a paddle of your choosing. The prize is valued at over $300. Thanks to Payne & Dolan for donating the grand prize year after year.
Supporting raffle prizes: If you’re not lucky enough to win the kayak, don’t worry! Over 25 other prizes from business throughout the watershed and Madison will also be available to win. Without question, there is something for everyone.
